Taking your PF940C from raw frame to finished firearm is a rewarding journey. The design incorporates an ergonomically sculpted grip with customizable stippling panels, allowing you to create unmatched texture and control. The integrated Picatinny accessory rail ensures you can mount lights or lasers, while the frame’s geometry provides a naturally intuitive point of aim. This isn’t just a part; it’s the core of a build that reflects your standards for reliability and precision. Completion requires basic tools, a separate jig kit, patience, and a commitment to following all applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Is this a complete, ready-to-shoot firearm?

No. The Polymer80 PF940C is an 80% frame, also known as an unfinished firearm receiver. It is not serialized and requires machining, drilling, and the installation of a parts kit, slide, and barrel to become a functional firearm. Completion requires a separate jig and drill bit set, along with compatible Glock® Gen 3 components.

What tools and parts do I need to complete it?

You will need a Polymer80 PF940C-specific jig and drill bit set (sold separately), a hand drill or drill press, hobby files/sandpaper, and a hammer or punch. To build a functioning pistol, you must also source a Glock® 19 Gen 3 compatible parts kit (lower parts kit, locking block), a complete slide assembly, a barrel, and magazines.

Is it legal for me to build this?

You must be legally eligible to possess a firearm. Building an 80% frame for personal use is federally legal, but you cannot manufacture it with the intent to sell. It is the builder’s sole responsibility to research and comply with ALL federal, state, and local laws regarding firearm ownership, manufacturing, and registration before purchase. Some jurisdictions prohibit these items entirely.

How difficult is the completion process?

The process is straightforward for anyone with moderate mechanical aptitude and the ability to carefully follow instructions. The included polymer is engineered for clean milling. The most critical steps involve precisely drilling the pin holes and clearing the recoil spring channel. Taking your time and using the correct jig results in a professional-quality build.
